Foundaindale Grand Manor History
Fountaindale Grand Manor is an impressive 3-4 storey English Manor house, purpose built in 1924 to entice wealthy Sydney socialites to the beauty of the Southern Highlands. In its’ heyday, it boasted a nine hole golf course, two tennis courts, croquet, lawn bowls, billiards, fishing, hunting, horseback riding, and an onsite mechanic who looked after guest's cars during their stay. The hotel won the 'Most luxurious hotel in the Commonwealth' award in 1925, and was the first hotel in Australia to have phone lines to every room! The upper floors provide uninterrupted views of the surrounding hills and valleys, with views to the ocean from the 4th floor loft. The ground floor offers an attractive entrance vestibule opening to a spacious guest lounge, restaurant, bar, conference facilities and a grand ballroom. Five open fireplaces add warmth and atmosphere to the hotel.
Fountaindale Grand Manor retains its period charm, providing you with just the right mix of past and present. The 14 acres of landscaped gardens are perfect for a distraction free environment for your next conference. The hotel offers a choice of 49 accommodation rooms with 3 different syles, Heritage, Queen Ensuite and King Ensuite Room - spacious and oozing old world charm. Bathrooms are original and wonderfully quirky with the Heritage Rooms sharing bathroom facilities, the custom of the era.
Three meeting rooms cater for between 15-120 delegates featuring refreshing natural light and stimulating atmosphere. Various breakout spaces allow you to choose your meeting facilities and include AV equipment, wireless broadband internet access and more.
